Oh hai. I can haz reader?
Tell me this. How did I ever exist before Google Reader? First, I used Mozilla Thunderbird. I found it moody and unpredictable. Tony's been using Newsgator for quite some time, but the format didn't work for me. So I tried Live Bookmarks on my Firefox toolbar, which has been great, but it was a pain to read updated posts.
Yesterday I signed up for Google Reader and put all my subscriptions into it. The heavens opened and little cartoon bluebirds tweeted and settled gently on my shoulder. Really, it's like any other aggregator, but maybe I like the format of it so much because it's very similar to the Gmail design. Clean, user-friendly, and reliable. (I think. I did read something on the Google Reader blog recently about half of their users losing all their subscriptions! Haha!)
I feel all technological while using it, too, even though I'm consistently ten steps behind all the cool kids on the Internets. Now I can be all, "Oh, hey, sorry, I was just checking my Reader subs," or "Whoa, when did all these feeds update?" or something similar that makes me sound like I remotely know what I'm talking about.
Secret: I don't! I just like it!
