Advice from for the novice gardener

Let's say, hypothetically, that you decide to garden in front of a twenty-foot wide townhouse. It's probably not a good idea to plant two Leland Cypress trees in your front yard, considering they can grow up to 50 feet tall and 25 to 30 feet wide. You will probably end up returning these trees to the garden center at Lowe's.

Not that I would know this first hand or anything.

You should try as flowering shrub - they are like trees - they look like trees but don't get as big. I have a Rose of Sharon in my front yard- it has nice white flowers that bloom in summer - or what about a lilac? Not sure the differences in climate from here and there, but worth a look into!

Don't you realize you have a landscaper in-house to discuss these sorts of issues with? I mean, I don't know jack shit about the television addiction stuff you have goin' on, but I know what works for pretty much any landscape install.

Or did you think I was only worth talking about because of my Patrick Swayze jacket?

Mulching, ha-ha! Okay, so that will probably be me next weekend. What happened to us?? One day I'm drinking my college tuition money away and the next I'm arguing over which annuals to plant in the container. Sad.

Let's now say, hypothetically that you lived next door to Farmer Forino. Let's say some naughty children knocked down his cow fence. What would you do if his cows wandered into your yard? You may, hypothetically , barricade yourself on your deck. I bet you would not, as Farmer Forino suggests, "shoo" the 600 pound animals back to their own side of the fence. Not that I would know this first hand or anything.
