new hair
Ok, I'm trying out this new thing called BRAVERY. I hate the way I look in pictures. HATE. But I'm on this "feel good about myself" kick, so what the hell.

Got my hair cut today at a new salon, which is always fun. I went on the ever-reliable Find It In The Phonebook method, but I lucked out. The woman who cut my hair did a great job and I love it.

This time, however, I did something different. I had my hair colored and highlighted. I've never done that before. I had visions of yellow and orange stripes running through my brain, so I was a smidge nervous. The highlights turned out perfectly, sort of an amber color against the allover auburn. I like them!

The best part of the experience, though, was when we got on the topic of products. How excited was I when she offered me 100% vegan hair products to use and buy? VERY!

Don't ask me how much money I spent today. Just don't.

I'd love to know what products they recommended. Are they vegan in the sense that they are natural/organic. Inquiring minds want to know (and avoid petroleum-based crap).

The brand is Pureology. The main ingredients are certified organic botanicals - there are plenty of chemicals in them, but none are derived from animals, and I'm pretty sure none are petroleum-based, but I'm not positive on that one.

Gorgeous pic. You truly look like you should be in a magazine. I LOVE the color. But you know now, you will be seeing that woman lots. Once you start the color wheel, you don't get off very easily. heh.

wow, you hit the jackpot in the hairdresser lotto. you are going to have so may stalkers now! i'd rather find a new ob/gyn than a new hairdresser. might explain why my hair is down to the middle of my back now.

Oh, I want my hair down the middle of my back. But it gets to, like, my shoulder and then I start looking like a drowned rat. And I have to chop it off.

OMG, searching for a new ob/gyn gives me hives. I have an appointment with a new one in September, which should be a source of great anxiety for me that entire month.

You look absolutely gorgeous! I also went to the salon the other day and spent too much money on a cut and color, but I love doing it. I went for a slightly darker brown than my hair usually is, so it's something new. Isn't it fun?

And bravo on posting a picture of yourself. I hate pictures of myself, especially on the internet. Lovely hair!

ooooh! I love it! It's gorgeous and you look amazing! I found my current hairdresser randomly, and now I don't think I'll ever leave her. I am not brave enough to get my hair colored though I really want to.

Wow, you and your hair look great, Danielle. Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I was on the ClayTrain for his JBT for almost two weeks and am just now catching up.
My take on the new "do"? My usual pessimism. You just KNOW that this gal will never be able to duplicate this cut again, don't you? It will be too short or something or it will seem as though an alien has invaded her body....hahaha Plus, she will screw it up when you are going to a reunion or wedding or somesuch. Enjoy!
