Oh, who are the people in your neighborhood?

It was approximately eight gazillion degrees in my classroom this morning, so the humor I found in this might be heat-induced.

Our unit for the next two weeks is "Careers and Community Helpers." I put this puzzle in rotation today.

A child looked at the artist and asked, "Is that Jesus?"

Not in a public school. GOD! When will they ever learn???

Now let's all stand up and say the Pledge of Allegiance...

Ahh, the innocense of youth. My father is a chaplain in the military (yes, I am a pastor's kid AND a military brat- double whammy!). Anyway, my favorite story like that is from a baptism he did. It was a small ceremony in the afternoon, after work. So he threw his clergy robe over his uniform and went out to perform the ceremony. The family stood around the baptismal, inlcuding the 3 or 4 year old new big sister. After the ceremony the big sister said, "Daddy, God wears shoes just like you!"

Too funny, Jesus the Artist. That sounds exactly like my 4 year old son. Every guy with the darkhaired 70s beard and stache is Jesus. Not that the boy ever goes to church with me or attends Sunday school yet.
